Howdy! These links reflect the film business from my own personal corner of it, as well as articles and sites of greater importance for a wider audience. I have made a film about my wonderful hawk friend Tennerin and you can find it on youtube, right here: Prior to the epic on Tennerin, my mother and I produced the stupefying adventure travelogue, Travel Happy, which you may watch on youtube as well. Here it is---if you dare! I worked as production designer for a film called Dreams Awake written and directed by Jerry Deal and produced by Berry deal, along with others. The process of this film, from its inception, through filming, and then through editing and eventually its distribution and sales is being recorded by Jerry on his site for the film, which you can find here: DREAMS AWAKE - Look outside and dream, or listen inside and awaken. Check out Jerry's blog for a fascinating account of the making of a feature film. There is an incredible amount of information here about how to make a film, as well as wonderful stories from the front lines. This blog is worth a year of filmmaking classes, for you film students out there. One of my favorite directors and human beings (no, they're not mutually exclusive) is Stephen Simon, who has been a producer in Hollywood for many years, and has always dreamed of doing inspirational movies that reflect our spiritual questions and epiphanies. Working with him on first, Indigo, and then Conversations with God (based on the series of books by Neale Donald Walsch), I was inspired to watch and support those films that Stephen has dubbed "Spiritual Cinema". Check out the Spiritual Cinema Circle for a way to see the latest releases of these kinds of movies and documentaries. It can be found here: |
