Experience
Features The Abyss
Led crew that sculpted ocean floor on location using sand,
plaster, and final overlay of cement to create a realistic
surface detailed enough to match miniatures and exact
placement of full-size undersea habitat vessel, and strong
enough to withstand several month 50 feet underwater
during filming. Also designed undersea plant/animal
organisms (echinoderms) that dressed the underwater set.
Alan Quatermain and the Lost City of
Gold Supervising sculptor for
two crews of seven people each (split shifts) during set
building. Stand-by sculptor and assisted with on-set
dressing and continuity during filming.
The Applegates
Lead scenic artist, trained local crew on location,
extensive plastering and cement work on several sets.
Army of Darkness
Lead scenic artist for special effects
studio where the film's miniatures and an array of fantasy
landscapes were created, ranging from a medieval graveyard
filled with battling armored skeletons to a futuristic,
post-nuclear holocaust city.
The Blob
Assistant to lead scenic artist; produced a variety of
treatments and texturizing effects using plaster, stucco,
cement, sodium silicate, ferrous sulfate, etc.
Captain America
Lead scenic artist for pick-up filming.
Duplicated sections of several locations, including stone
and mortar fortress.
Childsplay II
Assistant to lead scenic artist. Led paint crews for all
stage sets, trained wallpaper crew.
Co-Ed Lead
scenic artist. Painted portraits of women who were
members of a sorority house circa 1920, done in that era's
style of popular realism. Also reproduced a 4 ft. by 6
ft. contemporary artist's impressionist painting.

floats. Supervised construction of geodesic dome from

The Nest
Property master; worked with art department to create
special effects props in pre-production. During filming
was responsible for all props, including set effects
(smoke, wet-downs), handguns, and rifles.
Nightmare on Elm Street V
Lead scenic artist. Ran double shift crew,
coordinating with up to four camera units shooting
concurrently on different sets.
The Order of Things
Lead scenic artist. Created easily-removed, extensive
aging and water-damage effects used on location in
refurbished 1930's mansion.
Out on a Limb
Lead scenic artist and sculptor for special
effects studio. Matched full-size sections of cast resin
redwood trees to integrate into rear projection screen
film images using on-set and matte painting.
Pass the Ammunition
Lead scenic artist, created trompe-l'oeil
marble set, painted and aged pyrocil false-front "stone"
towers to match existing three story building.
Pulse Scenic
artist; woodgraining, brick and mortar, cinderblock.

Television The Huggabunch
(Special) Sculptor, scenic artist for miniatures. Worked
from blueprints to construct two sets. Show won an Emmy
for its special effects.

(Network Movie) Sculptor, painter,
set-dresser on miniature sets.
Nightmare on the 13th Floor
(Movie for HBO) Assistant to lead scenic.
Period Victorian sets included flocked and gilded
wallpaper, elaborately paneled woodgraining, and marble
faux finishes.
The Wonder Years
(Network Series) Lead scenic artist. Ran paint crew for
major new permanent high school set, then was responsible
for painting stage sets and locations during shooting for
the '91-'92 season.

Assisted designers on most jobs with all phases of art
direction, including set design, color planning, signage,
set painting, and matte painting
